5.50 game: Note to Self: Conserve My Chips
Looks like Alice likes those min-bets. So far she's played the first four hands.
AKo.. I raise 120 and alice reraises. Charlie calls. I bet 300 on the flop and both call. J 9 8 5 rainbow on the turn. Charlie bets big with a pair of jacks. I fold. Alice calls with AQ and busts out.
I'm down to 955 : 5th place out of of 7.
Make that 875 in 6th place out of 6. blinds are still 20/40 so I have time to catch up.
I should have just checked that AK hand on the flop. I was out of position and only had ace high. 300 chips doesn't seem like much, but I'd be in much better shape right now if I'd just let it go.
Lots of limping going on. Barry and Evan seem to be butting heads on every hand.
KK on the big blind. Barry raises. Evan calls. I'm going to shove. Barry takes me out with AK when his ace pairs.
I think the shove was the right move. I want all my chips in the pot there. What I could have done better this game was not bet when I had AKo and missed the flop. It would make sense in a cash game, but early in a sit and go I need to hang on to every chip.
Otherwise, it's way too easy to cripple my stack on the first hand I play.
